徐老师在澳门科技大学完成国际汉语教育的学习,随后又去往海外国际学校教学,有着深厚的国际背景。在海外国际学校教学的5年中,她常喜欢和来自各国的老师沟通探讨彼此的教学方式,她发现亚洲教学方式中规中矩些,英美更活泼,她用心记下各个老师值得学习的方面,不断完善自身能力。
Graduated from Macao University of Science and Technology, Xu went to teach in international schools overseas. She has a profound international background. During her teaching in an overseas international school, she enjoyed communicating with teachers from different countries about their teaching methods. She found the Asian teaching style more disciplined and the British and American teaching style more lively. She carefully wrote down the aspects worth learning from each teacher and constantly improved her ability.
相比观看影视作品,她更喜欢阅读书籍。她说:“书会给予我更广阔的想象空间。”她不仅好读书,而且常思考。曾有外国学生提问:“为什么是买东西,不是买南北?”这样的提问启发她用不同的角度去思考,去研究语言。因此契机,她开设了专栏《华文走向世界》,讲述中文背后的故事。
She prefers reading books to watching movies. “Books will give me a wider space for imagination.” she says. She is not only a good reader, but also a thinker. A foreign student once asked, Why do you say “mai dong xi”, not “mai nan bei?" Such questions inspired her to think differently, to study language. As a result, she started a column, "Chinese Goes to the World", to tell the stories behind the Chinese language.
如今徐老师将丰富的经验和感悟运用于语文教学。她认为语文不是简单的阅读背诵,而是一门引导孩子认识事物、感知事物从而表达事物的学科。徐老师在教学中,会融合美术舞蹈等多学科知识。比如她教孩子们学古诗《春晓》的时候,让孩子们发挥想象力去感受古诗的意境,把自己对于诗词的感受通过绘画的方式表现出来,身边任何普通的物品都可以作为作画工具,蔬菜、棉棒、勺子等等,以此激发孩子的观察力和想象力。
Now Xu puts rich experience and insight into the application of Chinese teaching. She believes that Chinese is not just a simple reading and recitation, but a discipline to guide children to know, perceive and express things. Xu will integrate the knowledge of Art and Dance and other disciplines. For example, when she taught children to learn the poem "chun xiao", she asked them to feel the artistic conception of the poem and express their feelings about the poem through painting. Any common object can be used as a drawing tool, vegetables, cotton swab, spoon, etc., to stimulate the child's observation and imagination.
她提倡通过孩子看得见的表扬来鼓励孩子进步。班上以积分制鼓励孩子们的细微变化和各种优点,也鼓励家长用心发现孩子的各种进步和成长。Lucky刚入学时座位旁边经常会有纸屑果皮,某一天她发现Lucky主动拿扫把清理自己的周边,便拍了视频发给父母表扬孩子的进步。得到了老师和父母的双重表扬,Lucky在卫生上更用心了。在这样一点一滴的良性循环中,Lucky越来越爱干净。孩子们在徐老师的鼓励下成长得越来越好!
She advocates encouraging children to improve through visible praise. She uses a point system to encourage children's subtle changes and strengths, and parents are encouraged to look for their children's progress and growth. There are often scraps of fruit near Lucky’s seat. One day, she found Lucky took the initiative to clean the surroundings with a broom, so she made a video and sent it to parents to praise the child's progress. Praised by both teachers and parents, Lucky paid more attention to his hygiene. In this virtuous cycle, Lucky gets more and more clean! The children are developing more and more under the encouragement of Xu!
