圣比斯与英国杜伦大学教育学院合作创建了融合数学课,让圣比斯学生不仅能够更高效掌握学习内容,还能够锻炼数学思维,提高数学应用的水平。
In collaboration with Durham University, St Bees has created a fusion mathematics curriculum that enables students not only to master learning content more effectively, but also to exercise mathematical thinking and improve the level of mathematical application.

BBC曾筹划一场中英教育PK赛,制作组邀请了五位来自中国的老师,请他们在英国的一所公立中学开展一场为期4周的教学实验。PK赛中最抢眼的莫过于一位杭州来的数学老师,他带的班级,最终测验平均分67.74,高出英国老师班级13分!
Five Chinese teachers were invited by the BBC to conduct a four-week experiment in a British school. The most eye-catching was a math teacher from Hangzhou, in his class the final test score average was 67.74, 13 points higher than the British teacher’s!

As a matter of fact, Mathematics education in China has a long history and has formed its own curriculum and educational methods in the process of development. China's mathematics curriculum has a rigid structure and clear logic. It emphasizes induction, summary, review and consolidation, and training of exam question solving skills and arithmetic, which can effectively help students firmly master basic knowledge and the complicated skills of mathematics. In order to strengthen the mathematical foundation of students, our school uses of the national mathematics curriculum.

单纯的被动学习,会让学生失去创造性解决问题的能力。而这种能力,需要给孩子空间,反复打磨,反复思考,才能具备。如此看来,中西融合的数学也许是较好的模式。我校的融合数学既运用中国的数学资源与学习方法,也采纳了英式思维训练模式与课程体系。
Purely passive learning will make students lose the ability to solve problems creatively. To master this ability, we have to give children space to refine and rethink. In this regard, a fusion of Chinese and Western mathematics may be the best model. Fusion mathematics in our school not only uses Chinese mathematical resources and learning methods, but also adopts British creative thinking training model and teaching method.

在学球的表面积时,老师给我们带了橘子。我们先把橘子切成两半,在纸上用橘子画了四个圆,再把橘子皮剥开放在圆形里,刚刚好铺满四个圆。由此推出了球的表面积是4πR²。这让我对这个公式印象深刻!
